A weekend in a seaside town, out of season. Empty cafés, closed gift shops, a baby blue suitcase. A carpeted hotel room with an old lamp, a narrow bed, a mirror above the desk. My dinner reservation's in half an hour. The sea's somewhere outside, cold and medicinal.
